My sister has twin Nieces, Grace and Jessica, and Jess is obsessed with hedgehogs. About 4 years ago, as we were closing in on Christmas, I was trying to find a gift for her. Everybody was getting her hedgehog stuff,f and she had every book, jumper, pair of leggings and cuddly toy she could wish for, and I knew she would be getting more. 

At this point, I thought I would write her a little story and so Henny Hedgehog was born. My mum, who is a good artist did some little drawings to go with it. We printed it off and gave it to her. She loved it. A few months passed by, and I got a message: ‘Uncle Chris, when are you doing another book? All the kids at school want to know.’

Well, I was rather taken aback as I never even realised it had gone to the school. Apparently, she had taken it in. The teacher read it to the class and it had gone down rather well. 

So, to cut a long story short, I now have 13 stories written – most will have a few little tweaks as each comes to print, but the stories are there.

My name is Holly. Partner to Jon and mummy to the gorgeous Imogen.
I have worked in education with children and their families for over 20 years, and I love what I do.
After having my daughter in lockdown, I was inspired to put pen to paper and write my debut children’s book, empowering children to find the magic inside to cope with their big emotions.
I now have two published books under my wing and have started to illustrate books for others.

It’s been a privilege to illustrate Chris’s books with my quirky and unique style.
